How an e-ticket number is built
An airline e-ticket number has 13 digits: a 3-digit airline accounting code followed by a 10-digit serial number, often printed as 125-1234567890. A booking reference (PNR) is different: usually 6 letters and numbers that identify the reservation, not the payment. Read the full explanation in our PNR vs e-ticket guide.
