Fare locks
How does a fare lock work?
Quick answer
A fare lock reserves your chosen flight with the airline at today's price for a small fee per traveller. The lock lasts as long as the airline allows — usually 24 to 72 hours — and the exact deadline is shown before you pay.
Step by step
- 1Search your route and pick a flight marked as lock eligible.
- 2Tap Lock, enter each traveller's passport details and pay the lock fee.
- 3You receive a real airline booking reference (PNR) straight away.
- 4Before the deadline, pay the balance and the airline issues your ticket.
Good to know
- The lock fee is credited in full against your ticket when you pay the balance in time.
- Not every fare can be locked — some airlines require immediate payment, and departures that are too close cannot be locked.
